Western Isles Photo/Graphics

Western Isles Photo/Graphics is the photography, illustration and design part of Western Isles Cruise & Dive. We personally research all the material for our publications before we even start to write the text. Most of the photographs and all of the illustrations are produced by Western Isles. This often involves traveling across North America. We have a library of research material and a stock of thousands of photographs.

Digital Illustration

This type of illustration is usually drawn and scanned. Then the drawing is rendered with several applications. These illustrations are often combined with photographs that are given a painted look.

When we are researching historical subjects we often photograph restored buildings and boats. We try to use as much natural light as possible. The problem is while the eye can see the dimmer inside and the brighter outside the camera often can't. We try to overcome this problem with digital cameras.
